Nicola Wilson had a fantastic weekend at Hopetoun International Horse Trials winning the CIC*** and the CCI**

The CIC*** had some very strong competition and Opposition Buzz (Dodi) won the class by more than 7 marks showing that at 17 years old, he is still an exceptional and dazzling horse. He did a super dressage test, jumped clear in the show jumping and just added two time faults on the cross-country course.

Nicola's winning streak continued with Kiltealy Brief, a new horse for Nicola this year, taking 1st place in the CCI**. “Kiltealy Brief is a lovely horse’’, says Nicola, ‘’he is so nice to ride in all three phases and seems to be a true professional and I am looking forward to our future together and to be greeted by his owners at the finish, it was clear to see their joy!”

It was Beltane Queen's first run back since Badminton Horse Trials and she was excited to be back out competing again taking 3rd place.

Hero Motivator finished 6th in the CCI**. He was leading in the dressage but then had an uncharacteristic stop on the cross-country, which was a great shame. Even though the cross-country course did cause many problems, a clear show jumping round meant he still finished 6th. He will continue to gain experience at this level this year and it is pleasing for Nicola to know that hopefully she has another potential horse for the future in the making!

Ngong Hills is another exciting horse for the future. He is a young horse stepping up this year to CIC*** level who was caught out at the influential double of corners. He will get there with more experience!
